Sandra Meigs describes a model wherein the "I" -what we understand as "self"- is not separate from the world. All experience is an ever spiraling outward complexity of patterns that merge within the microcosm of our cellular structure and macrocosm of the universe. Meigs will discuss how she sees art as a model for this system. The gap between the viewer and the canvas can be traversed in the imaginative realm. The canvas itself poses as a self and the viewer as a self. The two merge this worldly gap and become the imaginative realm.
